Core Careers Team
Ms Tess Cutler – Teacher of Mathematics, Careers and Aspirations Lead
As the Careers and Aspirations Lead for Bristnall Hall Academy, Miss Kailey is responsible for the development and successful implementation of our whole school programme for CEIAG. Managing all external business links for Bristnall Hall Academy, Miss Kailey ensures that all students have regular exposure to various industries throughout their learning journey at Bristnall Hall Academy. As a result, all students are equipped to make informed decisions about their future study and employment.
Mr R Bhatoe – Subject Leader of Geography, AimHigher Coordinator
At Bristnall Hall Academy, social mobility is at the heart of our CEIAG. Mr Bhatoe is collaborating with the external organisation, AimHigherWM, to provide opportunities that enhance employability and social mobility for all Bristnall Hall students. This includes an extensive range of trips to further and higher education institutions and work places, internally held workshops with only high calibre guest speakers and our bespoke AimHigher aspirations mentoring programme.
Mr W Tomlinson – Teacher of Science, STEM lead
We recognise the country’s growing need for a STEM skilled workforce. In response to this and guided by the DfE’s ‘Report of the STEM review’ Miss Hadlington’s bespoke STEM programme ensures all students have extensive knowledge and exposure to STEM in the world of employment. This includes visits from STEM professionals such as medics, engineers, mathematicians and forensics scientists, as well as creative workshops delivered by STEM experts, and our very popular in-house STEM club.
Mrs J Bhogal – Numeracy Coordinator, Finance Education Lead
Our Finance Education programme supports our students in becoming financially responsible citizens in the future. Mrs Bhogal utilises links with local banks to inform students about areas of finance and implements the national money week scheme. As such, all students participate in a differentiated scheme of finance education across 5 years at Bristnall Hall Academy. This programme gives students knowledge of bank accounts, debt, savings schemes, loans and mortgages as well as pensions and student finance.
Miss M Carpenter – Teacher of Geography, DofE Lead
The Duke of Edinburgh’s award is one of the many opportunities that enable our students to develop non-cognitive skills. Miss Holden facilitates the Bronze and Silver DofE awards, where students participate in community service, physical recreation and learn new skills.
Connexions
Our in-house connexions advisors provide routine careers advice appointments for all students.
